Safety flooring is specially engineered to minimise slip risk and provide safe movement in low to high traffic environments. It is often referred to as non-slip flooring, however, this is a misconception. It is designed to minimise the risk of injury in areas that are exposed to the spillage of contaminants.

How does safety flooring work?
Safety flooring incorporates aggregates into the production process, which allows for the reduction of the impact that the contaminants can have. These aggregates can penetrate the wet film when they are sufficient in number and quality, providing contact with the shoe or preventing the ball bearing effect of dry contaminants. All of our safety flooring products are designed to specifically promote slip resistance by reducing the risk of slipping, which is often caused by a number of contaminants such as water, grease and shampoo.

Environments with a ‘very high’ slip risk
Working in demanding environments that have been assessed as having a very high slip risk can be dangerous without the right safety flooring. In instances where contaminants are constantly present and the risk of spillages is unavoidable, specialist safety flooring is the solution to keeping people safe.
